Boosting the expansion of renewable energy

Utilities are seeking resiliency, low levelized cost of energy storage (LCOS) and a growing need to address greater penetration of renewable energy across the power grid. To meet these requirements, our systems not only have a much longer operational lifespan and cycle capacity than lithium-ion battery storage systems but also are founded on non-toxic and anti-flammable chemistries as well as very low maintenance cost.

Vedanta technologies support both short-duration/high-power usage and high-energy capacity/long-duration usage with access to the battery's full capacity (100% depth of discharge) multiple times a day, over a 20+ year lifespan. Our systems can help utilities defer significant capital expenditures on distribution equipment by storing energy during periods of either low demand or oversupply and releasing energy during peak demand.

Power distributors can communicate via SCADA with Vedanta systems installed at end users to dynamically manage demand at the distribution level in response to electricity supply conditions. This also assists in frequency regulation and other ancillary services, supports demand leveling programs, and can also reduce dependence on electrical services from fossil fuel-based generation plants.

Our solutions include control and management software to provide remote monitoring and control capabilities, enabling central electrical service control centers to monitor system status and command operations in real time.
